SPORT IN THE EASTERN SUDAN; From Souakin to the Blue Nile
Rowland Ward. 1912 London, 285pp. Very good plus. Item #007838
Author started his hunting trip in Port Sudan and went south as far as the junction of the Blue Nile and the Ethiopian border. Contains a chapter on the game animals in the Sudan east of the Nile. Also a chapter on shooting large cats over bait. Otherwise; elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, ibex, kudu, roan, waterbuck, hartebeest, etc... This book is written in diary form and unfortunately the author did not elaborate to try and create a narrative. Yet, somehow scarce, probably because it is a Rowland Ward publication. Please note this edtion lists a map on the titel page but it is not in the book as was true for all other copies in this printing we have ever seen.
