Cornerstone to anybody's African library. Probably the most sought after of all 5 Lydekker's books on the big-game of the world. (For an unknown reason H. Anderson Bryden is listed as the general editor for the Africa volume, although Lydekker did most of the work for this book as well as the other 4.) Contributions by Kirby, Selous, Neumann, Pease, etc. Covers all African game animals with terrific illustrations. Each and every color plate was colored by hand. The illustrations depict most of the African game animals known at that time, and certainly all the major animals such as rhino, elephant, leopard, lion, etc. An absolutely beautiful book that you will cherish for years to come.
