Mr. John Guille Millais, F.Z.S., was an author, wildlife illustrator, hunter, naturalist, and landscape gardener. Some might call him a true Renaissance man. He traveled and shot big game in South and Central Africa as well as in Iceland; the western Unites States and Alaska; Canada; Norway; the Arctic regions; and the Carpathians. He painted the birds and animals he observed during his expeditions abroad and illustrated his books with his paintings. This work consists of 20 plates depicting African game scenes. Eleven of the plates are b&w and 9 are color. Besides a title page there is no text in this reprint, the only one ever and one of the rarest items ever published by Millais. More than likely less than 100 copies of the original were printed.
