Considered to be the authoritative book on the game animals of the Sudan. Henry Courtney Brocklehurst was the game warden to the Sudanese government. He was killed in action in Burma in 1943, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Includes a chapter by Walter Bell on hunting elephants not published in Bell's other books. Contains illustrations by W.H. Ridell (a much under appreciated artists) John Millais, Walter Bell and Frank Wallace.
