LEAVES FROM A GAME BOOK
Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co Ltd. 1898 London, 1st edn, 249pp, limited to 250 copies, 19 photos. A very good copy in original vellum/marbled boards binding. Inner hinges bit weak. Red spine label on spine no longer present. Item #007134
In a series of two volumes Augustus Grimble describes his shooting experiences in the British Isles: grouse, duck, pheasant, snipe, partridges and hares. He seems to have been a prolific game shot claiming a count over 76 thousand from the 12th of August 1877 till 1st February 1898 when this diary stops. A rather scarce work.
