The author was a noted big game hunter and conservationist who hunted leopard, elephant, lion, kudu, rhino, nyala, forest buffalo, and eland in Tanganyika, Kenya's Northern Frontier, and Zaire. In the Zaire he is the only modern sportsman to have shot a giant eland. Most of us know Tennison as the long time president of the famed Game Coin organization that met every two years in Texas.
