Quoting from Czech, "Holub in 1872 enjoyed sport among the great herds of wildebeests and bagging lion in the Maquassie Hills. In November 1873 he started his second expedition through Bechuanaland toward the Zambesi, hunting hartebeest and blesbok, with an additional night hunt for wildebeest. His third expedition in 1875 carried him to the rivers Chobe and Zambesi. Near the Chobe, he hunted elephant, and below the Victoria Falls of the Zambesi, he unsuccessfully stalked lion."
