Author and his hunting party trekked into the interior and traded with the natives to obtain ivory in the wild country of Kenya; however, he managed to obtain only one tusk during his extensive expedition. He did shoot numerous rhinos both along the Guaso Niyoro River and in the West. He also shot buffalo and plains game and a group member did get elephants. Many exciting adventures befell the author while traveling including a treacherous river crossing. An attempt to enter the Lorain Swaps to find elephants failed and then the group ran into hostile Kikuyus. And although few elephant were shot this book is highly sought after because of the quality of the adventures and the narrative describing them. A very scarce book.
