Foreword by Lord Cranworth. An extremely rare book by a famous professional hunter and founder of the East African Professional Hunter Assoc. Regarded as one of the elephant hunting classics. Author tells of his own hunts in British East Africa, Somaliland, and Abyssinia. He also writes three chapters on his longtime friends Jim Sutherland and George Rushby. Then there is more hunting in German East Africa and the Belgian Congo. A VERY scarce item and one of the HARDEST books to find on East African hunting in general and elephant hunting in particular. The noted elephant hunter and study of the old ivory hunters, Tony Sanchez, has stated in print that the original 1946 printing was only 400 copies. We believe this number might be on the low side but there can be no doubt that it is a very scarce book.
